Take a look at our Bigcommerce coupon importer for a solution that will let you import coupon codes into your Bigcommerce store using a CSV file.

Creating coupon codes manually is a big hassle, especially when you are promoting your business on Groupon and need to come up with several hundred coupons. You can either hire somebody for a few hundred dollars to create them for you, or you can use an ingenious method to import the coupon codes for free.

The way this works is by using a Google Chrome extension in order to automatically import the coupons. This saves you time and money in that you do not have to pay somebody to enter in the coupon information through the backend. In order for this method to work you will need:

  • A recent version Google Chrome
  • Know how to install a Google Chrome extension
  • About 15 minutes of your time

Once you have Google Chrome installed (any version released in 2012 should be fine), then you need to download the free Bigcommerce coupon importer extension from the following link:

Bigcommerce Coupon Importer (right click, save as)

After downloading the extension you will need to install it, and then create the coupon codes.

Follow these steps to install the extension:

  1. Extract the files to a local folder on your computer, then open up Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the "Wrench" icon and go to Tools > Extensions, then click on "Load unpacked extension".
  3. The extension should now show up in the list of extensions.

Follow these steps to create the coupon codes:

  1. Login to your Bigcommerce control panel.
  2. Go to Marketing > Coupon codes
  3. Click on "Bulk Import" button
  4. Scroll down and you will see a form for the coupon codes. Enter the coupon code amounts and all of the other settings. These settings will apply for all the coupon codes that will be created through the form.
  5. Enter the coupon codes in the textbox. One coupon code per line.
  6. Click on the "Start Import" button
  7. Watch the coupon codes being created without lifting a finger!

We are happy to help you if you have issues importing coupon codes or installing the Google Chrome extension. Our installation fee is $50 and we will make sure the coupon codes are imported properly. Just contact us via email and we will take it from there.
