Above the fold (website)
When opening a browser window and navigating to a webpage, part of the window consists of menus and toolbars and the other part shows the website you are visiting. Only a percentage of one page is visible on the screen at one time. The part that is visible when first navigating to a page on a website is called 'above the fold'. Its height can vary for each visitor depending on their browser and number of toolbars. The most important content and links should always be above the fold.
